Montana Racing Company raises some of the fastest quarterhorses, and we do it the old fashioned way. We believe that a solid foundation is absolutely necessary to raise top quality, speed-bred horses. We have taken the top producing bloodlines of today and packaged it in a range-wise band of mares that do not have to be coddled. We believe that a horse cannot reach its full potential without knowing "how" to be a horse.

Our mares spend 8 months of every year running outside. On average our mare band will travel 6 miles per day between water and the best grass. They pass this knowledge to their foals, teaching them to travel and traverse rough country. Horses that run outside are healthier and more content, they build joints, ligaments and tendons that are stronger than their penned-up cousins. They develop "horse sense", and are better able to keep themselves out of trouble. Whether going to the track or arena, our Montana breds can compete with the best and they'll hold up while they do it.
